Traveston Crossing/Wyaralong Dams - Business Adjustment Scheme

As a result of the announcement of the proposed Traveston Crossing and Wyaralong Dams, QRAA is providing financial assistance on behalf of the Queensland Government to businesses that have been affected.

Traveston Crossing and Wyaralong Dams – Business Adjustment Scheme

The Business Adjustment Scheme provides eligible businesses, which are significantly adversely affected by the announcement of the proposed dams, the ability to seek financial assistance for Business Advice, Business Restructure or Business Exit.

Business Advice Assistance

Enables eligible businesses to seek reimbursement for costs associated with obtaining professional financial advice regarding the adverse effects of the proposed Traveston Crossing and Wyaralong Dams, on your business.

Assistance is in the form of a grant to cover 100% of costs up to $2,000, payable on the presentation of valid tax invoices/receipts for expenses.

Business Restructure Assistance

Enables eligible businesses to develop and implement business strategies to improve the ongoing viability of your business.

Assistance is in the form of a one-off grant up to 100% of the estimated net exit value of the business to undertake a range of restructuring options including:

  • Relocation expenses
  • Adopting new technologies/processes
  • Property improvements
  • Value adding improvements
  • Debt reduction

Support for short term decline in profitability suffered as a result of the dam announcement is also available.

Business Exit Assistance

Provides a one-off payment to enable an eligible business, where as a result of the dam announcement, exiting the business is the only realistic option.

Assistance will be determined in each case by QRAA and subject to an independent formal valuation of the business.

Please refer to program Guidelines which detail the terms and conditions of obtaining the assistance and eligibility requirements.

Payments made by QRAA may result in financial, taxation, legal or other implications. Applicants are advised to seek independent professional advice in regards to possible implications before participating in the Scheme.

Traveston Dam Information Sessions

Information sessions regarding the financial assistance were held by QRAA on the 14 November 2006 in Kandanga.

Wyaralong Dam Information Session

An Information session was held at the Boonah Cultural Centre on the 6 December 2006 at 6.30pm.
