QRAA visits Dalby: concessional loans for primary producers

Primary producers looking to achieve greater productivity and those wishing to enter into primary production are invited to meet with QRAA’s Customer Service Officer in Dalby on Tuesday 22 January to discuss finance available to them.

QRAA CEO, Colin Holden, says the Queensland Government’s First Start and Sustainability Loans available through QRAA are a popular source of finance for primary producers.

“The loans of up to $650,000 assist both new and existing primary producers achieve their farming aspirations by offering concessional interest rates, no set up or exit fees, up to 20 year repayment terms and joint lending with commercial banks,” Mr Holden said.

“The recent reduced interest rates make the loans even more attractive for Queensland’s producers, giving them an incentive to invest in infrastructure improvements, enterprise diversification and land and equipment purchases.

“QRAA First Start Loans have been used by a number of families recently to assist in farm succession and the establishment of viable enterprises by the next farming generation.”

The new fixed interest rates on First Start and Sustainability Loans drawn down from 1 January 2013 to 30 June 2013 are 4.18% for one year, 4.21% for three years and 4.47% for five years.

“The temporary office will be an opportunity for producers to meet with QRAA’s Customer Service Officer, Brian Coe, to discuss their individual situation,” Mr Holden said.
