CANEGROWERS
A leading industry organisation, CANEGROWERS provides representation, leadership and other valuable services to Queensland cane growers in order to achieve a viable sugar industry.

Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestries – Australia (DAFF)
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestries provides support and governance to the Agriculture, Fishery and Forestry industries of Australia. The AFF website also contains detailed information on the Exceptional Circumstance declarations across Australia.

Department of Natural Resources and Water – Queensland
The Department of Natural Resources and Water works closely with other government agencies, industry and the general community to develop and implement programs necessary to achieve common goals for the management and maintenance of Queensland’s natural resources.

Department of Primary Industries & Fisheries – Queensland
The Department of Primary Industries, among other things, works towards achieving capable rural Queensland communities that are self-reliant, the commercial uptake of new technology by Queensland’s food and fibre industries and the sustainable use of natural resources.

Growcom
Growcom, formerly known as Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growers (QFVG), is the voice of Queensland horticulture and is the only organisation in Australia to deliver services across the entire horticulture industry to growers and grower-groups of all commodities, sizes and regions, as well as associated industries.

Queensland Dairyfarmers Organisation (QDO)
QDO plays an active role in protecting the interests of Queensland’s dairyfarmers, ensuring that their views are adequately represented and addressing matters affecting the industry to improve the efficiency and welfare of their members.

Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF)
QFF is a leading rural industry organisation that represents more than 18,000 primary producers (including cane growers, fruit and vegetable growers, cotton growers, prawn farmers and dairy farmers) across Queensland.

Queensland Seafood Industry Association (QSIA)
QSIA is a representative body for Queensland’s licensed commercial fishers that ensures commercial fishers maintain the right to harvest seafood products, encourages value adding of seafood, and promotes a favourable policy and economic environment for the seafood industry.

Rural Assist Information Network (RAIN)
The Rural Assist Information Network (RAIN) has recently been developed as an information resource for people in regional southern Queensland.
RAIN provides information on a range of topics, including finance, health, primary production and employment.

Support Programs

Australian Taxation Office
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) offers assistance to people who are finding it difficult to pay their tax debts due to the impacts of the drought on their income. Farmers and other taxpayers whose income is derived from drought affected areas can visit the ATO tax relief web page or call 13 11 42 and select option 3 to discuss their circumstances with an ATO employee.

Centrelink
Exceptional Circumstances Relief Payment (ECRP) is available to primary producers and small businesses that have been impacted as a result of the drought. Payments are subject to income and asset tests. Please contact Centrelink on 13 16 73 for further information.

Foodbank
Foodbank Australia is a non-denominational, charitable organisation, which sources donated and surplus food from food growers, manufacturers and processors to distribute to welfare and community agencies that provide food assistance to people in need.
