Disaster recovery

QRAA administers financial assistance to disaster affected primary producers, businesses and non-profit organisations under the joint Commonwealth / Queensland Government funded Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA).

Financial assistance has been activated for Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie and associated rainfall and flooding, 28 March - 6 April 2017. View the links below for information on available assistance.

Please note that primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations can only receive assistance under the Natural Disaster Assistance Scheme OR the Natural Disaster Assistance (Essential Working Capital) Scheme for an eligible disaster - not both.

Natural Disaster Recovery Grants

Primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations affected by Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie and associated rainfall and flooding may be eligible for grants up to $25,000 for recovery efforts to pay for clean up and restoration costs arising out of direct damage.

Natural Disaster Assistance

Primary producers and small businesses directly affected by Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie and associated rainfall and flooding may be eligible for low interest loans up to $250,000. Non-profit organisations directly affected may be eligible for a loan and grant package up to $105,000.

Natural Disaster Assistance (Essential Working Capital)

Primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations which have suffered a significant loss of income as a result of Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie and associated rainfall and flooding (such as through loss of electricity, water or road access for extended periods) may be eligible for low interest loans up to $100,000.
